The Truth Didn't Begin with Christianity
Jun 15, 2026
My journey away from Christianity wasn't a journey away from God.
It was a journey toward Truth.
For much of my life, I believed that Christianity held exclusive ownership over spiritual truth—that angels, healing, miracles, divine guidance, and communion with God all began within the pages of the Bible. I was taught that anything outside of those boundaries was dangerous, deceptive, or evil.
Then I had a spiritual awakening, and began to study history.
What surprised me most wasn't that other cultures had different beliefs. It was discovering that many of the spiritual principles I had been taught were unique to Christianity had actually existed for thousands of years before Christianity itself.

People were praying.
People were meditating.
People were receiving visions.
People were speaking of angels and divine messengers.
People believed in spiritual healing, the power of intention, sacred sound, fasting, dreams, prophecy, and direct experiences with the Divine.
Humanity has always searched for God.
Christianity didn't create that search. It became one expression of it.
As I continued to deconstruct my beliefs, I realized something even deeper.
Many of the truths that Christianity teaches today appear to have roots in much older traditions. Rather than encouraging people to discover the Divine within themselves, many of those teachings eventually became surrounded by fear, control, and the belief that human beings were somehow separate from God.
Instead of reminding people of their divine nature, they often reminded people of their unworthiness.
Instead of teaching empowerment, they taught dependence.
Instead of encouraging direct relationship with the Divine, they often placed human authority between the individual and God.
That realization changed everything for me.
It caused me to go back and read the words of Jesus through an entirely different lens.
I no longer saw him as someone trying to convince people they were powerless sinners.
I saw someone reminding humanity of what they had forgotten.
When Jesus said,
"Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me (as I do) will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these..."
I don't believe he was speaking symbolically.
I believe he meant exactly what he said.
He wasn't asking people to worship his power.
He was awakening them to theirs.
Not power over others.
But the power that comes from remembering our unity with God.
The power to love.
The power to heal.
The power to forgive.
The power to create.
The power to embody compassion.
The power to remember who we truly are.

For centuries, many people interpreted these teachings through the lens of hierarchy—that only certain people could hear God, that only prophets, priests, pastors, or saints were worthy of divine communication.
Yet throughout history, people from every culture have described profound mystical experiences, intuitive knowing, visions, and moments of direct connection with the Divine.
Today, I believe we are witnessing something extraordinary.
We are experiencing a collective awakening.
Not because a select few people are channeling truth.
But because millions of people are beginning to remember that divine wisdom has always been available within.
Some receive insight through meditation.
Others through prayer.
Others through nature.
Dreams.
Near-death experiences.
Silence.
Creativity.
Love.
Some call it intuition.
Some call it the Holy Spirit.
Some call it higher consciousness.
Some call it God.
The language matters far less than the experience.
What I believe is happening right now is that humanity is remembering something ancient.
That we were never meant to give our power away.
We were never meant to fear God.
We were never meant to believe that the Divine only spoke through a select few.
We were created to know God—not only around us, but within us.
Perhaps that was the message Jesus was trying to remind us of all along.
Not that he was separate from us.
But that he came to show us what was possible when a human being fully remembers their oneness with the Divine.
Maybe the awakening we're witnessing today isn't humanity discovering something new.
Maybe it's humanity remembering something very, very old.
