"They Know Not What They Do” — A Message for America Right Now

As I sit with the current energy in the United States, the political division, the hate rising to the surface, the way people are turning on one another...I can’t help but hear the echo of one of Jesus' final and most powerful statements:

“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
(Luke 23:34)

He said this while being crucified, mocked, beaten, misunderstood, and betrayed, not by strangers from afar, but by people in his own community.
Religious leaders, political power structures, and fearful crowds came together to destroy someone who only came to heal, awaken, and set people free.

And I see that same energy playing out now.

A Mirror of Then and Now

Jesus showed up to shift the consciousness of the world. To dismantle systems of fear, shame, judgment, and control. He spoke about a higher kingdom, not of man, but of Spirit.
A kingdom of love, compassion, and inner transformation.

And for that, he was met with hate.
Why?

Because when truth enters a system built on fear and control, it threatens the very foundation.
People don’t attack truth because it’s wrong. They attack it because it asks them to wake up...and waking up is uncomfortable.

That’s what’s happening in our country now.

People are reacting out of fear. Out of unconscious programming. Out of inherited beliefs. Many “know not what they do.” They don’t realize the pain they’re perpetuating. They don’t understand that hate is a reflection of their own unhealed wounds.

Jesus’ Response: A Blueprint for Us

Instead of reacting with anger, Jesus responded with compassion and clarity. He saw beyond the behavior and into the spiritual unconsciousness behind it.

"Forgive them... they know not what they do."
He didn’t say, "It’s okay" or "This doesn’t hurt."
He said: This hurts, but, They don’t know. 

And that awareness, that so many people are asleep, hurt, manipulated, or spiritually disconnected, is what kept him in love instead of hatred.

We are being called to do the same.

Hate Is Rising Because Light Is Rising

The more people awaken, the louder the old systems get. That’s why you see the rise of racism, anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric, religious extremism, political violence, and fear-based policies.
It’s a desperate attempt to hold onto a dying paradigm.

But make no mistake, this is a death rattle, not a victory.

And we, the healers, the lovers, the ones holding the frequency of light, must stay grounded. We must not let their fear become our fear. We must not meet hate with hate.

Instead, like Jesus, we must see what’s really going on.

Holding Both Truth and Grace

This doesn’t mean we spiritually bypass what’s happening or ignore injustice. Jesus didn’t ignore it, he walked right into the heart of it and still chose love. He exposed the darkness, but he didn’t become it.

It’s okay to feel heartbroken.
It’s okay to feel angry.
But don’t let it turn you into what you came to heal.

We are in a spiritual battle of consciousness, and every thought, word, and action is part of that frequency field. That’s why it’s so important to stay aware, and to hold the line with love, even when it’s hard.

We Are the Ones Now

Jesus carried the energy of a new world, and it got him nailed to a cross.

But we know what happened after that.
Love rose.
Truth rose.
Consciousness rose.

And it’s rising again, through you. Through us.

So today, let us whisper this prayer not only for those who are causing harm, but for ourselves, when we feel overwhelmed, reactive, or tempted to harden our hearts:

“Forgive them… they know not what they do.”
And sometimes… neither do we.
But we’re remembering. And that remembrance is the real revolution.
